What is Emsculpt?
Emsculpt creates more defined abs and tones your butt, —all without surgery, injections, or invasive techniques. Using high-intensity electromagnetic energy, Emsculpt causes your muscles to contract up to 20,000 times a minute, building muscle tissue and reducing fat. It can also help treat mild diastasis recti, a condition where your abdominal muscles separate (usually during pregnancy) and leave you with a pooch.
Emsculpt is just as popular among those who are more focused on gaining definition than losing fat. According to its manufacturer, studies show an average 16% increase in muscle mass and 19% decrease in waistline after only four treatment sessions.
What happens during an Emsculpt treatment?
You’ll need no preparation for your Emsculpt treatment. Simply lie comfortably on the table—face up for treating your abs, or face down for treating your glutes. Our emsculpt certified technician will strap a rubber pad to the treatment site, and the treatment will begin.
For your first treatment, the doctor or esthetician will start the device on the lowest setting and slowly increase the intensity. As it begins sending high-intensity electromagnetic energy to the target muscles, you’ll feel them contract powerfully. Over the next 30 minutes, the contractions will follow an algorithm. Sometimes they’ll be rapid, and sometimes they’ll be slower and more powerful. It may feel intense at first, but most people get used to the sensation within a few minutes.
Emsculpt’s electromagnetic energy makes your muscles contract much more forcefully than you could achieve on your own through exercise. And as your treatment progresses, the intensity will slowly increase, but not beyond your comfort level. Over time, you’ll be able to start your treatments at higher settings.
After about 30 minutes, your treatment will end, and you’ll have completed the equivalent of 20,000 crunches or squats with no sweat and no pain. Each treatment is easy and fast, with no recovery or downtime needed.
When will I see the results of Emsculpt?
Many people start to feel more toned after the first four treatments. More sessions can be added to enhance results. We suggest patients come one month, and three months after their last treatment to do follow up photographs.
Emsculpt’s protocol recommends a series of four sessions—twice weekly treatments for two weeks. Our body contouring specialist may suggest a different schedule based on your particular needs and goals.
