What makes Radiesse® different from standard fillers?
Instead of hyaluronic acid, which other dermal fillers use, Radiesse® uses calcium hydroxylapatite, which still physically fills the area of treatment with additional volume but has the added benefit of organically stimulating collagen in the injected area while the active ingredient is working. This provides skin tightening benefits in the long term in addition to the volume or wrinkle-filling benefits produced immediately after injection.
Does getting Radiesse® injections hurt?

Is Radiesse® FDA Approved?
Injectable calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse®) received FDA approval in 2006 for the correction of facial lipoatrophy and moderate to severe facial wrinkles. This product consists of microspheres of a synthetic bone suspended in a methylcellulose gel matrix. Because the product is thicker than the hyaluronic acids, it is used for the correction of moderate to severe wrinkles, such as deep nasolabial folds.
