Does the Micro Laser Peel Treatment Hurt?

All patients are numbed prior to treatment to enhance patient comfort, you will also be supplied with a Zimmer hose (which emits cold air). During the treatment you may briefly feel a warm or rubber band snapping sensation as the light is being absorbed by the skin, with a warming sensation following the treatment. This typically subsides within 1-2 hours post-treatment. 

You will see results within the first treatment. However, the number of treatments will depend on the severity of your textural concerns. We recommend 2 – 4 treatments for optimal results. 

Micro Laser Peel treatments can safely treat skin types 1 through 4. 

 We recommend introducing an Antioxidant and Retinol into your routine a minimum of two weeks prior to treatment. This will aid in repair of the skin and provide a light exfoliation to get the best benefit of the Micro Laser Peel. We also require all clients to avoid unprotected sun exposure to the treatment area 2 weeks prior to treatments.

Micro Laser Peel’s healing journey can take 5-10 days, depending on the depth applied during treatment. If recommended aftercare is used as prescribed, this can reduce downtime and give more comfort throughout the healing phase. The duration may vary when Micro Laser Peel is paired with another ablative laser treatment. We recommend a consultation with one of our skilled providers to go over all the details with you for post-procedure protocols.

 

Micro Laser Peel treatments are able to ablate anywhere from 10-40 microns off for your epidermis. Depending on your concern and treatment plan, the micron depth is decided by your provider and medical director of Sarnia Anti-Aging Clinic before treatments based on your concerns. With subsequent treatments, we can bump up the depth levels for our patients based on their post-treatment reactions.
