Profractional

The Profractional laser uses a tiny laser beam to create thousands of tiny pinpoint areas on your skin.

Does the Profractional Laser Treatment Hurt?

Most patients don’t feel much during treatment. After the Profractional treatment is completed, patients experience a warm sensation on the skin that may last 1-2 hours. We offer an array of pain management options. All patients’ skin will be cleansed and Lidocaine (topical numbing) applied. We offer a cold air Zimmer hose during treatment that blasts cool air to cool down your skin. Pro-Nox is available at an additional cost. 

Profractional Erbium laser is a safe laser for all skin types; this laser has a high ablation efficiency with very little thermal conduction. This treatment is very customizable which allows us to treat various skin concerns. 

Profractional treatments are recommended for skin types 1-3. The Profractional laser can be calibrated for each individual’s aesthetic goals and can target multiple areas. We at Sarnia Anti-Aging Clinic continue to upgrade our knowledge through extensive training to offer the safest and most effective protocols based on your skin type. 

Pre-conditioning the skin is an important step – this helps the skin adjust to the aftercare products, calming down inflammation and building collagen to make the treatment most effective. With Profractional Laser Treatments, the Alastin Post-Procedure kit is recommended. This kit includes pre- and post-care treatment products to enhance and maximize results and encourage more vibrant, youthful-looking skin. We also ask all patients to refrain from all active ingredients in their skincare 5 days prior to treatment i.e., glycolic acid, & retinol.

Yes! There is associated downtime with the Profractional Laser treatment. The healing journey for Profractional Laser Treatment is different from patient to patient. Factors that affect healing time are: protocol performed, aftercare compliance, pre-treatment compliance, age, alcohol & smoking intake, and overall skin health prior to treatment. The general healing period is anywhere from 4 to 10 days. After day 4, patients can resume normal activities and wear cosmetics and tinted SPF while the skin heals.

No! All Profractional Laser Treatments are customized to your skin’s concern and skin type. At your initial consultation, a treatment plan will be created for you, and your therapy timeline will be set. Typically, patients require anywhere from 1to 3 treatments for desired outcomes. For scarring purposes, we recommend treatments anywhere from 4 to 6.  For patients who come in for maintenance treatments, your provider may adjust your settings to intensify your results. That is to be determined by the client and provider on consultation or treatment day.
